Hit-and-run suspect in Beaverton road rage incident indicted by a Washington County Grand Jury

A Washington County man is facing criminal charges in connection with a May 5 hit-and-run collision on Highway 26 near Beaverton involving a motorcycle.

Samir Helio Pazzoto-Filho pleaded not guilty in Washington County Circuit Court to second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and failure to perform the duties of a driver to injured persons.

Pazzoto-Filho also faces charges of felony hit-and-run and reckless driving.

The incident happened in the westbound lane on Sunset Highway near Highway 217 and Cedar Hills Boulevard on the morning of May 5.

According to Beaverton police, the charges stem from a road rage incident in which Pazzoto-Filho allegedly struck a motorcyclist and then fled the scene. The victim was sent to a hospital with serious injuries, but is now home with family.

A community tip led Beaverton officers to Pazzoto-Filho’s residence near Highway 26 and S.W. 185th Avenue. The suspect was taken into custody, and was lodged at the Washington County Jail.

Pazzoto-Filho’s blue Kia displayed damage believed to have been caused by the crash.

The case is still under investigation with the help of the Beaverton Police Department and the Washington County Crash Analysis and Reconstruction Team.
