Shooting at Hillsboro-area gas station leaves 1 hospitalized, 3 juveniles arrested

Three juveniles are in custody after a shooting at a Hillsboro-area gas station that sent one person to the hospital.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 31, Hillsboro police responded to a shooting at an ARCO gas station on Northeast Cornell Road. Upon arrival, officers found bystanders performing lifesaving efforts on an injured adult victim before taking over.

According to Hillsboro police, the victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators determined that three juvenile suspects had fled the scene on foot, leading to a pursuit that involved the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Beaverton Police Department and Tigard Police Department. Authorities located the suspects after a two-hour search and arrested them.

All three suspects were transported to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center on charges of attempted murder and first-degree assault, Hillsboro police said in a release.
