It started in the mind of a Portland actress, but it quickly picked up steam.
Soon enough, Purple Cow Vineyards had donated wine, Pizza Schmizza had kicked in some pie and Maggie’s Buns was hosting a film shoot.
Nina Botto, the energy behind “Blue Fiddles,” a web series being shot in the Portland area this summer, said she’s been stunned by the outpouring of support.
“People are just volunteering and jumping out of the woodwork,” Botto said.
The Forest Grove connection came from Benjamin Fluter, who grew up eight miles outside of Banks.
Fluter now lives in Hillsboro and is part of a film production company. “Blue Fiddles” is a side project for Fluter, where he plays the role of co-producer.
Fluter knew the folks at Purple Cow, and took the daughter of Maggie Pike, owner of Maggie’s Buns, to the prom.
